Classification: Obituary
Surnames: Shreve/Shreves/Ayers
I recently acquired a box of newspaper clippings that included the following undated clipping from the Cumberland, Maryland, "Times-News"
"James A. Shreves - Dry Fork, W. Va. - James Andrew Shreves, 77, of Dry Fork, W. Va., died last Saturday following an illness of several years.
Born January 3, 1886, at Smoke Hole, W. Va., he was a son of the late James A. and Smildia (Ayers) Shreves. His wife preceded him in death.
Surviving are three sons, Curtiss Shreves, Smoke Hole, Kermit Shreve, at home, and Arlie Shreve, of RD 3, Keyser, two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Lambert, Elkins, and Mrs. Cora Teeter, Flintstone, eight grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services were held yesterday at Flanagan Hill Church, Gladwin, W. Va., and interment was in the church cemetery."
This is how the obituary was printed - some surnames have the "s" and some do not. If you would like this clipping, please contact me off-board.
