This indenture made and concluded the 26th day of October the year of Our Lord 1828 between Sam'l HOUGH & Jane his wife County of Loudoun and State of Virginia of the one part and Enoch SHRIGLEY of the same county and state of the other part _____ that the said Sam'l HOUGH for and in consideration of one hundred and forty dollars to him in hand _____ the said Enoch SHRIGLEY at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold to the said Enoch SHRIGLEY his heirs and assigns a certain lot of land lying and being in the County of Loudoun aforesaid and on the east side of the short hill Bounded as follows Viz. Beginning at a forked chesnut on the top of the short hill corner to Robert BRADEN's lot thence down the hill with the line of said lot S85 E48 1/2 poles to a small locust amongst some rocks thence N2 E75 poles to a stake and pile of stones one pole north of a makred chesnut oak, thence up the hill North 85 degrees W50 poles to four chesnut oaks on the top of the hill thence S23 W20 1/2 poles to a chesnut oak thence S5 degrees W35 poles to a chesnut oak thence S20 E22 poles to the Beginning. Containing twenty five acres more or less the same being a lot which Doct'r Isaac HOUGH bought of Peter SAUNDERS and sold to the said Sam'l HOUGH to have and to hold the said lot of land and all other the premises hereby conveyed with the appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only use and behoof of him the said Enoch SHRIGLEY by his heirs and assigns forever and the said Sam'l HOUGH for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth convenant and agree to warrant and defend the same and the title thereof to the said Enoch SHRIGLEY his heirs and assigns forever and that free from the claim of him the said Sam'l HOUGH his heirs executors or administrators and free from claims of all and every other person In Witness Whereof the said Sam'l HOUGH & Jane his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals on the day and year first above written.
