Have begun researching my great grandfather, Mat Shrum, who shows in a 1930 Oklahoma census as being approx. 73 years old with his father born in Tennessee. Anybody heard of Mat? Cannot find anything on him anywhere. I know he was born in Missouri but I don't think his first name was Mat. I think that is either part of his middle name or a nickname. There is a James M. Shrum that is pretty close to fitting the bill on this. James M. Shrum's father and mother were both born in Tennessee. Anybody have any information on this family?
