I thought you researchers of descendants of Jpon & Elizabeth Shuman of Ministers Run, would be interested in the obit of JWK SHUMAN, a descendant of John & Elizabeth to John & Mildred, to John Kendall & Alemda Shuman to Solomon Asbury & Ella Mae Shuman, his father. He told me he sold the last of the old original John Shuman land on MR. As follows.

J.W.K. Shuman , 90 of Rivesville (Parker's Run) died Sunday evening (Sept. 14, 2003) at the Fairmont General Hospital.
He was born Feb. 13, 1913, in Rivesville, a son of the late Solomon Asbury and Ella May King Shuman.
Mr. Shuman was Protestant by faith. He earlier attended Morgan Chapel Church in Rivesville.
He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways with 14 years of service. He enjoyed farming in the Rivesville area.
He is survived by two nieces and their husbands, Betty and Rodney Kovack of Charleston, and Nancy and Ernie Watts of Fairmont; four great nephews, Frankie and Jimmy Kovack, both of Charleston; Greg Potts of Rivesville.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Shuman was preceeded in death by a niece, Francis Potts; and six sisters, Pearly Ice, Mamie Layman, Annie Harris, Leafie Fleming, Ethel Ice and Lummie Lamp.
Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. today and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Jasper Street, Rivesville. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Toothman officiating. Burial will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Pleasant View Community.
