Classification: Query
Surnames: Shurtleff, Shiercliffe, Lettice, Savoy

This is my first time posting in England. I live in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. I am looking for the parents of William Shurtleff, possibly b. May 16, 1624 in Hallamshire, West Riding of Yorkshire, Ecclesfield Parish, England, d. June 23, 1666 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. His parents surname would most likely have been Shiercliffe. Shiercliffe's once resided at Whitley Hall and Ecclesfield. William Shurtleff left England as a 10 year old boy with no record of anyone traveling with him. He arrived in Plymouth, Mass. 1634. Nothing is known concerning the parentage of William, or the causes that led him to leave England at the age of 10. No geneologist has ever been able to find a record of his birth, so I am asking for help here. He was the first Shurtleff in America and all Shurtleff's here are descended from him.
He was one of the first settlers of Plymouth, Mass. and one of the forefathers of New England. He married Elizabeth Lettice, October 18, 1655 in Plymouth, Mass. She was b. 1636 possibly in Lincolnshire and d. October 31, 1693 in Swansea, Mass. She was the daughter of Thomas Lettice, b. 1603 in West Riding, Yorkshire, and Ann Savoy b. 1607 in Lincolnshire, d. July 2, 1687 in Plymouth, Mass. They all arrived in Plymouth, Mass. in 1638. I am sorry this is so lengthy. Does anyone have any information about Shiercliffe, Lettice, or Savoy surnames? I really need help.

Thank you very much!
