Hi, I am looking for a connection between John Sibbald, who was born 1863 in Mount Vernon, Wisconsin to the parents, Duncan Sibbald and Agnes (Davidson) Sibbald, and a John Sibbald that appears in the 1900 census in Whitman County, Washington. I am hoping that this is the same person but I need more confirmation.

Duncan and Agnes Sibbald were both born in Scotland. Duncan disappeared after fathering three children, John being the youngest. Agnes died in 1886 and is buried along with one of her daughters in Mount Vernon with a grave marker that says "mother" and another one that says "sister". It makes sense that John placed these markers as Agnes was his mother and Margaret was his sister. He was 18 at the time and did not inherit the family farm so he disappeared soon after.

The John Sibbald in the 1900 census lists his birth as 1863 in Wisconsin, and both parents born in Scotland. It appears that this is the same person. I also have a record of an Evelyn Sibbald born 8 Feb 1914, father John Sibbald, mother May Ryan, in Whitman. I have been trying to find some trace of Duncan, John's father, by tracing his children and hopefully finding some clue there. Any information would be helpful, and I would be happy to share about the Davidsons or Sibbalds of Dane County, Wisconsin. Thanks.
