Robert SIBLEY kindred in Franklin Co AL

Need to locate primary sources to confirm the children of (Robert?) SIBLEY and wife Elizabeth b abt 1783 NC, living in TN prior to moving to north AL (Franklin Co) 1814-1818. It is generally accepted via professional publishings that the children are Sabrina, Thomas Tanner, Mahaly, Elizabeth, Caroline C. and John, possibly others. Is anyone aware of a family Bible, probate record for Elizabeth, or other primary source which can confirm these children's names?
Thank you.
I have Esther Sibley b.c.1816, England , married John Smith c. 1848. they came to Australia in 1848 on " Palmira " there were other Smiths with them probably relatives.
I have different birthplaces for Esther, some research done years ago suggests Fowlmere, Cambridgeshire and recent searching suggests Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire. Esther's father was possibly John Sibley b.c.1895 in Paddington, Middlesex. He may be the one married to Eliza Dennison in 1836 at Greyfriars, London. Any information on any part of the family and where exactly they did come from much appreciated. Can anyone help please ?

This Joseph would be the son of Joseph Sibley and Susannah Follett, of Salem. Joseph and Elizabeth's children were: Joseph, John, Jonathan, Samuel, William, Benjamin, and Hannah, all born in Sutton.
Ok, this is only a "stab in the dark" but it may just pay off!

Searching for relatives of Thomas PD SIBLEY (1918-1973) who lived in Watford, Herts., England c.1950. Believed to have two daughters born c.1945-1951 and wife was Ethel UNKNOWN who may, at some time, have lived in Newbury, Berks., England c.1970. Anxious to find out further information on my relatives, the SIBLEY, JOICEY and TRENDELL families all from the Watford area c.1950.

It may just save me fruitless hours of searching through the GRO Indexes or waiting until the census for 2051 is released on media yet to be invented!
Mrs. Sarah Sibley severely stunned by meteor at Chickasha, Oklahoma

Appears in "The Wapanucka Press" 13 August 1903 Wapanucka, Johnston County, Indian Territory, now Oklahoma

METEOR FELL AT CHICKASHA

Aerolite Struck in Town – The Second Within Two Years

Chickasha: During a heavy thunderstorm here a few nights ago a meteor fell in the north part of the city with a blaze of light and a shower of sparks which lit up the entire city and the country for miles around.

The aerolite struck the earth in the back yard of Mrs. Sarah Sibley, who was standing in the doorway watching the storm. She was knocked own and severely stunned, but soon recovered. A terrible explosion occurred as the meteor struck and incandescent fragments of it flew in all directions. The wires of the telephone system in the north end of town were wrecked by the electricity, the lines twisted and torn and some of the instruments were melted down.

In the morning no trace of the heavenly visitor could be found except a burned place in the yard about eight feet square. Many people saw the meteor strike, and some of them thinking it was a thunderbolt. This is the second meteor which has fallen here in two years.
On the 1841 UK Census she is living in Stepney, Middx and is married to Robert Leader. They went on to have 3 children: Robert, Frances & Jesse.

I'm having trouble tracing Sophia back any further. Would like to know when she went to the UK, were her parents Belgian, any siblings etc. Please get in touch if any of these names ring any bells!

Ancestry of Martha Sibley

Hello. I am researching a Henry J Sibley who married a Mary le Paz Acosta. He had two daughters that I know of: Martha Sibley (who married my gg grandfather, James Basey)and Henrietta Sibley. Henry was born about 1818 in Texas (I believe) and died in 1849 probably in Nacogdoches County, Texas. His mother Mary "Polly" Pate Mose (?--there is one Texas Census where her last name is Lindsey?) was married to a Sibley but shows up in Texas Censuses in the household of William Goyens. This couple never had children of their own and Martha and Henrietta were heirs to William Goyens' fortune. I read that the Sibleys traveled to Texas from Louisiana. Does anyone have a record of a Mary Mose (?Spanish Censuses enumerate the maiden name of unmarried women) marrying a Louisiana Sibley? I don't know if they married there. She was born in Georgia, but I have nothing on Henry Sibley's father. Thank you for your time. I'm sorry if I don't make sense.

Interesting Sibley Letter - Louisiana, 1930 *

I purchased an interesting letter as part of a lot at a local antique flea market here in Texas. The letter is from the City of Lake Charles Mayor, Leon Locke, to George W. Sibley, written on Feb 12, 1930. The letter is in response to a claim that the Sibley family lost cotton presumably at the hands of Federal authorities during the Civil War. The response states that an act on Congress, approved in 1915, prevents the extension of claims arising out of the Civil War. The letter is signed by Mr. Locke. If this part of your family, please contact me.

I'm looking for any reference to a Robert Sibley born in Ireland around 1800. In the 1841 UK census for Hertfordshire he, and his wife Maria, were listed as being born in Ireland. I know Sibley is not an Irish name, but on the Irish Times site there is a mention that Sibley might be found in either Down or Dublin. Can anybody help me?
Thanks,
Sue

Sibley's of Rossville (Chester Co.), SC / William, Elizabeth (wife), Edward and Loula

The 1900 census of SC show this family with 2 grandson's, William and John Roney ages 11 and 13 respectively. Does anyone know who William and John's mother was. I believe their father was Henry F. Roney and was told he married a Mattie Sibley. Does this info ring a bell with anyone?

I am the 3rd great granddaughter of Alford Britt, desended through James Alford Britt (married a Self), David W. Self (married a Sibley), Ella Elizabeth Self(married a Britt), David Leon Britt (married a Yarborough) and Roger Leon Britt (married a Blessing).

I have quite a bit of information on these families (still looking for more) and I would be happy to share. I have only been working on geneology for a couple of years and have been given stacks of papers from the various families. Some are family group sheets that were compiled in the 1960's, there are a few discrepencies, but most of the facts are checking out. I have photos of several of the Britt tombstones, and some photos of the Blessing, Britt, Garlington and Yarborough families and some photos of tombstones in the Littlefield/Amherst, Texas area.

I would love to share/exchane information with anyone working on these families.
Hello. Someone has reminded me of a long-time family friend of my mother during the 1940's and 1950's.

I don't remember how and where my mother met Mrs. Barbara SIBLEY, but there is a chance it was while my father was stationed at Westover AFB in Springfield during the 1940's. I believe they met while they were both single, or perhaps Barbara had already married Eugene SIBLEY at the time.

I remember visiting the SIBLEY family in Greenfield, MA, as a child, and they had several children around the same ages as my younger siblings and I.

My mother has an "old photo" where she and Barbara are standing in a humorous pose with an "oxen yoke" over their heads.

I don't remember when my mother with Mrs. Barbara Sibley, but they probably haven't seen each other since the 1970's, and possibly since the 1960's.

(If any descendants of Eugene & Barbara SIBLEY happen to read this posting, my parents would have been known as "Stan" and "Betty" and their children - from Winchester and Arlington, MA.)

(I'm not finding either Eugene or Barbara SIBLEY "of Greenfield, MA" on the SSDI Listings.)

I am trying to find records on my great grandfather
Arthur Ernest Sibley (could also be Ernest Arthur).
from what I know he married a Christine/a Horn and I dont know how many children they had, but the had my Grandfather George Sibley in 1928. At the time of my Grandfathers death they lived in Bierley. I believe that they lived at 23 Heath Hall Avenue in Bierley, in 1928 and when My grandfather joined the army in 1946 his mother is still listed at that address. I also think that Arther Ernest died before 1946, but was listed as deceased on my grandfathers marriage certificate in aug 1948. My Grandfather married a Elizabeth Kennedy and they had 3 children.
I am unable to find any records B,M,or D on 1837online for Arthur Ernest (ernest Arthur).
If anyone could help me I would be EXTREMELY GRATEFUL i feel I am going mad

I am looking for any information on a clarence v. walker jr. Or just C.V. walker jr. of Augusta Georgia. All I know is he passed away before the 1930's. He was married to Sarah Augusta (Shaw?). Together they had three girls. Augusta Evelyn Walker born July 22, 1901 and later married Hubert O Sibley of Atalnta also known as gussie walker. Also there was Gertrude Erskine Walker who married Robert Martin Gibson in 1921. Also Nellie Walker who married a W.T. Lee. The story goes that they were put in an orphanage after there father died, but I am reading articles that include Mrs. C .V. Walker all the was up to 1921. I can not get passed my great-great grandparent, nor do I know dates for them. So if someone could help I would be most appreciative. Also Clarence is supposed to be somehow realted to W.H.T Walker. Thank You

Seeking Cornelia Sibley, dau. of Ford and Ruth

Does anyone know how I might contact Cornelia? She was born app. 1941 and grew up and was living in California. I last saw her in 1956 or 1957 when she visited the farm in Maryland that used to belong to her grandparents. Within the past couple of years, while on a trip East she returned to the farm and left a message for me there, but the person to whom she gave her card with the message lost it! I am very disappointed about this as I would really like to be in touch with her. Any help in re-establishing communication would be greatly appreciated. -- Jackie
