Dale Sifford and I have started a Sifford et al surname project to try to get us all over our brick walls. The approach is that we will do two things:
1) Collect pedigrees from as many Sifford et al (Siefert, Siffert, Seaford, etc.) researchers as possible and consolidate them into a single database. We will then identify conflicts and "iffy" relationships, and target them for DNA studies.
2) We will try to find male descendants of the identified family lines to donate DNA samples for the study, which will then either prove or disprove the "legends" that are floating around.
