Re: Sigel's in Phiadelphia

I was at an antique mall today in Southern CA and saw an old document for a Christian Sigel. The date mentioned was 1682 and it was written in German, I believe. The accompanying translation said that it was his discharge papers from the German Army, that he was born in Saxony, and that he helped lay out the city of Philadelphia. The document was mounted on an old looking piece of wood and was broken in pieces where the folds had been. The paper looked old and leathery-looking. I think I remember seeing the name Baron de Vialette on the document as well.
It looked interesting and I wanted to purchase it, but it was too rich for my pocket right now. I wish that I had documents like this for my family!
I'm not sure if all this info adds up though. Saxony is in Germany, but would the Germany army have been in Philadelphia in this time period? Maybe it wasn't his discharge - just describing it?
Anyway, I just wanted to share this info with any possible members of the Sigel Clan. Happy Hunting!

My Sigel family lived in New Richmond, Clermont County, Ohio in the 1850's. I think the parents were Christian and Gertrude (Blauser) Sigel. It was a second marriage for both of them. Daughters were Anna Kasiar Sigel who married Ignatius Schenz in 1870 and Elizabeth who married Ignat's brother Mattias in 1871.

I am looking for the parents of Anna Kazat (or Kaisar) Sigel and her sister, Elizabeth. The girls married brothers, Ignatius and Mattias Schenz, in Clermont Co., OH in the 1860's. I think that the Sigel sister's father may have been Christian Sigel. I would be very grateful if anyone can provide any more information on the Sigel family of New Richmond, OH.
