My grandmother's last name was zilberberg or zylberberg. She was born in plock poland. Her parents names were Elias and Hinda.

Selma died in 1968 - her death record shows she was the daughter of Meyer Silberberg. He was a butcher, in Rothenfelde.

The informant on Selma's death was Gretha Kahn of Rego Park. Wishing to make contact.

In my search for major dr.rabbi heszel klepfisz, i found out he organized the first seder-evenings in liberated Europe, namely in Breda on March, 28 and 29 1945.
About 300, mainly polish soldiers were present there.
he also organized to have printed a special haggadah, from which probably a copy can be obtained at bibliotheca rosenthaliana at the university of amsterdam.
Ask for dr frits hoogewoud, librairian.
This haggadah was the firtst printed jewish booklet in liberated Europe.
reb heszel klepfisz' father Zalman, born in 1884 was a descendant of the famous warsaw rabbi samuel zeinvil zalman
dr.heszel klepfisz passed away march 20th 2004 in Jerusalem.
probably his his sister sara-gitl lives still in miami, together with her husband yoshua yachsen.Very recently i found this out. haven't had any contact yet.
i gathered this information on writing an article for the breda 'kille' on behalf of the fact dr klepfisz organized also
the fist 'hannukah' 60 years ago in the breda synagoge in december 1944 from which a picture has been made.

Searching for any details on Selma Silberberg or her brother. Selma came from Germany, and was born in Rothenfelde.
details from Passenger lists provide following details:
number of trips back to USA = 3 1904, 1913 and 1914
Selma was aged 17 on her first trip to New York in 1904.
She visited her brother who lived on 14 ave 8th street New York. Selma had a home in Brooklyn in 1914 (1937 81st ?) and settled in Hoboken New Jersey by 1923 when her brother in law came to visit.

My gg grandfather Abraham ZYLBERBERG/ZILBERBERG/SILBERBERG/SILVERBERG came from Grodno after 1868 to London. He and his wife Jane ? had at least 6 children. Kitty b.1848, Isaac b.1851, Joseph b.1853, David b.1860, Rebecca b.1863, Sophia b.1867
His father was Moshe. He might have had a sister Sarah.
Slight possibility that he was somehow related to Naftali Tzvi Herz Imber.

My father is Simon(Shimale) Zylberberg, he have 7 brothers (2 girls and 5 mens).His greathfather was the Rab Gleitz from Poland, he was a community in poland, he was rosh ieshiva.A Big Sage.

I will travel to argentina in 1 month i think.We can be in touch there,in buenos aires.
I know that we have family in united states, but i don't know the ways of G'od, all that i know is that the reality is more impressive than the imagination.

I`m in Argentina visiting my family, but I live in Italy. How old are you? Are your parents from Poland or your grandparents. Do you know the names of your relatives in Argentina? My grandfather came from Poland running away from the war, First he arrived to Uruguay and then he came to Bs As. And I know that he had a brother that went to the States. Hmmmm..... Certainly some of the siblings' names sound slightly familiar. Although admittedly it has been many years since I may have heard any of them mentioned!

Unfortunately I don't have any documents readily at hand to check into things. I do have a cousin though who's been checking into family history for years... I'll see if I can come up with some info' there.

My grandfather Josef Zilberberg was born in Lutzk /Poland and came to Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1937 aprox/. He organized the Voliner Farband with the polish community.

Hi Joshua,My father told me a story some 40 years ago about how his family changed their name prior to WWII from Silberberg to Sills.My father passed away in 1970 and we haven't been able to verify this story.He was born in 1911 ,his mother's name was Becky,his name was Jules and his brother's names were Albert and Hi,Sisters were Laverne and Lilian.Do any of these names show up on your list?Their ansestry was Polish/Russian/German.

Confused and/or missing Silberberg connections

Hello all! My father's birth name was "Silbeberg". However he changed it prior to WWII.... For what reasons I am still uncertain. Hi father's name was Ernest J. Silberberg and he immigrated to the U.S. from London (where I believe he was born) sometime in either the latter 1800's or early 1900's.
Does anyone have any links or connections to help me sort this out?

My grandfather was Joseph Silberberg. I suspect he emigrated to the US around the turn of the century. I did see a record from the naturalization service for my father dated, as I recall, when he was 7 years old. In New York City. Became a citizen. It must have been around 1917 when this happened. His name was Herman.

I don't recall my grandmother's name, but my brother should know. Maybe I'll ask him the next time I'm on the phone.

Looking for Jules Silberberg

Jules Silberberg would be between 50-60, comes from a large family who used to reside in Troy, NY. My father was his english professor at Christian Brothers Academy, and Jules spent considerable time in our home. As I recall, Jules had a slight speech impediment.

Jules used to care for me when my parents were away from the home. He used to tell the most wonderful stories; brillant really, about a kangaroo in Australia.

Jules applied to and was accepted at Harvard School of Architecture, and as I recall, did not complete his studies there.

Jules was and undoubtedly still is absolutely brilliant, talented, widely read and roundly educated.

I am looking for Jules because I always admired him, looked up to him and thought of him as a good and true friend, even to a little kid. I have some things to thank Jules for.

I just got a marriage register entry for the June 2, 1914 marriage of Herman Charles Silberberg to Mary Loretta Sweeney in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Long Beach, California. The entry shows Herman's parents as Meyer Silberberg and Caroline Neustadte. Further information has Herman baptized in St. Mary's Cathedral, San Francisco, California on January 29, 1881. The couple's address was given as 701 East 5th Street, Long Beach. Has anyone got any information of this family? Mary was my great grandfather's sister.

I'm related to KLEPFISZ. My greatgreat grandfather, Rabbi Aharon Shlomo Zalman Klepfisz, a"h had 3
brothers. One was Rabbi Shmaryahu Yossef K. , a"h.

Rabbi Shmaryahu Yossef K. , a"h, and wife Gittel Gesundheit, a"h, had 6
children ka"h, one being a daughter, Mania. Mania married Naftali Zylberberg. They had ka"h 6 children: Michael, Sima, Zelig, Esther, Henoch, Tova Genia.

Michael had Biniamin, a Rav in Pitsburg and Isachar.
Sima married Itzhak Auerbuch and lived in Jerusalem. Their son Shlomo Zelig married Chaya and had Shmerel, Jonathan, Gittel, Beniamin and Hinda .

Esther married Tashma and had Avraham.
Henoch married Blima and had Chaya and Topka , twins, and Biniamin.
Tova Genia lived in Ramat-Gan.

Those are the ZYLBERBERG names I've found in my tree.

Any familiar to anybody?

Hello Robert , my great grandfather was Percy Silberberg. He had a brother Ernest Joseph born in 1864 in Islington .London.I can find no death certificate for him.Last knowledge I have of him is in 1886 when he was present at his mothers death.Cannot find him on 1901 census .Other siblings were Florence,Lilly,Violet,Arthur, and Herbert.Are we connected?
