My Name is Catrina Silvas and im looking for any relatives of Esteban Paul Silvas (my grandfather) he had two sisters Christina (silvas) Mesa, and Barbara Silvas, their mothers name (my Great grandmother) name was Eleanor Silvas, I am not sure what my great grandfather's name.

My husband's name is Gilbert Silvas Jr. and his father Sr. Grandmother is Lillian Silvas...which is as much as we know as he did not know his father or that side of the family. Gilbert Silvas was born and raised in E. Los Angeles, and as far a we have found so far is that his grandmother lived there most of her life also.

Hi Robert.. long time no hear... well I found out more about my family. A cousin of mine by the name of Robert Silvas contacted me. He is my cousin. I had met him when I was 17 years old when my aunt on my mother's side went to go visit family in Lordsburg. We have been in contact since he found my name on Ancesory.com. He was on the same web site as I was and was glad to contact me. My Grandfather's name was Ignacio Silvas, not Ygnacio Silvas Garcia, however, my Grandmother who's name was Stephania last name was Guttierrez. So we're probably not related. I have a huge family in Lordsburg and am keeping contact with them. I hope this information helps.

Oh, also, I have a lot of cousins who live in Lordsberg, and Playas, NM... If you go to Lordsberg all you have to do is ask for a Silvas and they will lead you to one. I know I have a cousin named Carlos Silvas in Lordsberg.

From what I remember my dad telling me about my Grandfather is very limited... Ygnacio (G.F.) lived in Lordsberg NM. He was married to a Stephanie Gutierrez, she had three sons, Alberto, Rudolfo, and Raymond (Micky, for his resemblence to Micky Roonie) She soon left my Grandfather, and had other children. My Grandfather raised my dad and uncles...My father left Lordsberg suddenly in I believe in 1945. He also has a son named Louie Del lao. I will find out more.

Thanks for the reply. We very well could be related. I don't have any of Ygnacio's descendants listed yet in my family tree. I have some extended family names that would come from his other siblings if, my Ygnacio, is the same person that's your grandfather. Does anyone on your side know any names of his siblings, or your parent's(Silvas) first cousin's names? That would help to see if I can find a link.

My family's Silvas-Garcia connection, back in your granfather's time, would be in Clifton/Morenci, AZ-Silver City,NM, and Lordsburg. There is a Talvera-Silvas connection in Lordsburg for me. Does "Talavera" (male married to a female Silvas) ring in bells in your circles)

Most of my Silvas people I have found have seem to be from Lordsburg, and some currently are said to live there.

Let me know what you can find out, I have a gut feeling we are, but I could still be wrong.

My grandfather was named Ygnacio. He was from Silver City N.M. His children, Albert, Rudy and "Mickey" nick name, I'm not sure of real name are all from Lordsberg, NM. Are we related?... My father Rudy lives in Huntington Park, CA.

It's been awhile since our last contact, but as I promised to contact you if I got new info on Ygnacio. Not sure if it is a connection yet but I have a "Ygnacio Silvas Garcia"(spanish version) in my tree. Turns out to be my Grandmothers brother. Further, some of them lived in Lordsburg, NM. Getting pretty colse, I would say. Do you have any other names to help pin something down? Hope your still out there?

Immigrated to US, probably Boston, from Portugal around 1900 or so. Eventually moved to Calif. Widowed with 3 daughters in about 1937. Had housekeeper from Oklahoma, named Grace with 2 pre-teen children. Unknown to him she became pregnant & returned to Checotah, Oklahoma, & gave birth to David Lee Silva on June 5, 1937. She died in 1982. Unfortunately that's all I know. I was married to David & have 2 daughters by him. They would like to know if there is any family out there. Sorry for the sketchy info. but that's all we know. Thanks.

"Cresencia Garcia Slivas", her parents were "Roman Silvas" and "Josepha Garcia". She married my grandfather, Romulo Villescas, and they moved to Clifton-Morenci, AZ They had 12 children.

It is said they were fron San Vicente (Siver City) New Mexico area.

My grandmother's name is Ramona Silvas and my grandfather is Alexandro Sanchez. My grandmother's parents were Vitoriano Camareno Silvas and Luisa Ludovica Guajardo. They lived in Comal County Texas. Vitoriano's parents were Rafael Silvas and Mauricia Camareno. Rafael's parents were Silverio Silvas and Petra Banda. Mauricia's were Teofilo Camareno and Maximiliana Pena. Vitoriano had always said the family is Kickapoo Indians. He died in the 80's. Anyone with information, please write.

Frederick Roland Silvas, 84, of Chula Vista died March 12. He was born in San Francisco and was a manager for a furniture company. He was a pilot in the Army Air Forces in World War II and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.

Survivors include his nieces, Jayne Silvas of Fresno, Shirley Troiana of Fountain Valley; and nephews, John Silvas of Auberry, Calif., Tony Perry Jr. of Fountain Valley and Jeffrey Silvas of San Diego.

Visitation: 5-9 p.m. today with a rosary at 7 p.m., Greenwood Mortuary, 4300 Imperial Ave., San Diego.

Services: 1 p.m. tomorrow, Holy Cross Chapel, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego.

Arrangements: Greenwood Mortuary.

Andrew Silvas also changed his name in 1875 he and his family is are under Andres Carrillo, Evarista Carrillo, Alfredo Tamayo, son to Evarista Corona Carrillo, Jenny Carrillo if Anita Silvas, my grandmother. Eva Carrillo another daughter which I have no information on.
