Friends and Family,

Lucy Silvers Moore and I (Rita Farris Palomo) are cousins, Sarah Titsworth Silvers was my great grandmother. Her daughter Pearl Jane Silvers married George Washington Farris. They had 3 sons, George William, Sterling Eugene and Neale Nicholas (my father). Nepentha Silvers Purvis was my great aunt I knew her as a child and I have family photos of all the girls taken back in the 1940's, they were beautiful women. rkpalomo@hotmail.com

I also have connection to Chicago Silvers around that time. My Grandfather was George Arthur Silvers, he lived around or in Chicago. My mother was born in Cook County, 1952. Her name is Patricia Silvers. I know that there is still a branch of the Silvers family (our line) living in the Chicago suburbs. I'm not sure when my grandfather died offhand, I know my mother was a baby. My mother has found more of the family, if it's the same line we can compare notes.

Hi Maureen,

I have recently been researching the Silvers line to try to figure out who the parents of my GGG grandmother, Charlotte Silvers Roy were. There is an entry for Hugh Silvers age 19 w/ Charlotte, her husband Louis, and their children living in Platte Co., MO. Charlotte and Louis moved west to Oregon in around 1852. I (and others) believe Hugh went with them. I also found the entry for Elihu Silvers, his wife Sarah, and son Charles in the 1860 Oregon census for Yamhill Co. Then Hugh and Charles appear in the 1870 Lane Co., Oregon census. Could Elihu actually be Hugh? It's a guess...hope this helps.

Kathryn Davis

I do have a Thomas Silver in my data who was a brother to my John Silver. He was born Dec 15, 1803, married Nellie McMahon. They were sons of George Silver, Jr. However, this Thomas had many children, so this would not be yours. Good luck in your search. Sorry I could not help.I do not have a Hiram Silver in my data.

Possibly your dates are off. John Silver. son of George Silver Jr was born in 1785-6 Frederick Co MD. He eventually brought his family to Gilmer Co Ga in the 1840's. He died at the age of 98 and is buried at Ball Creek Cemetery in Pickens Co Ga. He has a son (brother to my Greenberry),Thomas Jackson Silver b. 1823. He married his cousin Mary Myra Silver. I have all this info if this is your family. I will be happy to share my files but you will have to email me so I can send them.
