Hello,I am Johnny Johnson b.4-28-50 Elizabethton Tenn. Am looking for official census documents listing the children of George Simerly b.1844 and Nancy Guinn 11-30-1868, as half breed/mother Indian.

My line is one of their sons Nathaniel Simerly (Grandfather) to My (Mother) Sally Simerly.

Have had some previous info from Frank Merrit's history of Cater Co. books, and more specific, some history on family done by Burl "Scrub" Jenkins, where he supplied the above unofficial census info.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mom just turned 100 on 4-20-09 and is living here in Warren, Oh.

I discovered the name Hobert Valentine in your lineage. My husband's deceased father's name was Hobert Valentine. I know the time frame is not right but the name is not a usual one. Our Hobert came from Missouri we think, born 1917; moved to Arkansas, then California and back to Arkansas. If you can help at all it would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Dave and Pat Valentine
patwest@citlink.net

You may have me stumped. I can tell you that she is not the daughter of John or Adam Simerly as thier daughters and nancy's are accounted for. I have a feeling she is the Granddaughter of John via one of his daughters. I will keep working on this as you have my curiosty up!!! Richard
I'm not really sure how this posting board works but; think you asked me for dates based on my question for information regarding Simerly's. If so; I believe Henry was born about 1795 and pasted about 1883. Any information would be appreciated and I'd also appreciate knowing the source records if you have them (Census, Family Bible, etc..)

I don't think this is my Nancy, since she was married in 1843 to Wiley Crumley. Between 1844 and 1866, they had 10 children. I don't have exact birth or death dates for her, though.

Richard, thank you so much for answering my question and more. Unfortunately, I have not been successful connecting with Alexander Campbell who moved to Shelby Co. Indiana although allied families of Douglas and Chambers looked promising. My James Campbell 1782 NC married Martha Adams 1789 NC and were in Shelby Co. IN by 1822. Never have found parents, siblings, marriage record, or NC location. So it goes.

Thanks again for your reply.

Anne
