SIMMONS Harbour Grace Newfoundland
I have just begun my search into my father's family. The story is that 2 SIMMONS brother's came to Newfoundland from Poole, England. 1 of the brothers settled in Mosquito and had 10 sons, 1 which was Ernst a merchant, 1 set of for Whitbourne, 1 set of for Colinet. The other brother settled in Conche. The story goes on to say that these are the fore fathers of all SIMMONS' in Newfoundland.
My ggg grandparents were James SIMMONS and Elizabeth ?. They had Levi H. Pike SIMMONS b.1843 d.1900 who married Zilpah Jane Hannah PIKE, and James Edward SIMMONS b.1838 married Caroline PIKE b.1847 (Zilpah's sister).
Levi and Zilpah had Ernest b.1878 d.1933 and a girl?
James and Caroline had Hugh William b.1865
If anyone has a connection to this family I would love to hear from you.
