Wow, this is so exciting. I've started this research as a birthday surprise for my husband so I'll have to ask him if he knew that Kenneth was married before. From what I know, Kenneth Z. Simonet married Irene J. Bayhl (my husband's mother) and they had 3 children together, Joyce, Gayle & Marcel Simonet. I'd love to see the other info that you have to show to my husband. This might be the best birthday gift ever. I printed out Kenneth's draft card to give him when he opens his birthday card!!

Great!Let's work with this...It seems your husband's father had a second family later in life. My records show that Kenneth Z Simonet married D WOOD, and they had 2 daughters, Jane and Betty. I did a book in 1987-88, and was in touch with these two daughters. Your husband's line is one that was not known. So good to hear from you. Most of the Simonet line is on the East Coast, north to south. I am in WV. My line is from your husband's great grandfather's brother, Augustine. I have all this info in family tree setup, and am very willing to share with you. Let me know!

M Gasper

YEA!!! My husband's father's name is Kenneth Zollar Simonet and he had a brother Louis! These are the people! Thank you so much for the information. When I added Marcel as Kenneth's father on the tree a leaf popped up with Ellen being the wife but they don't list Kenneth as a child on the cencus form. I guess that could be because he was no longer living in the house at that time. Does that make sense? I'm totally new to all of this. So Marilyn & the boy whose name you haven't verified would be my husband's cousins. This is awesome!!

Nice to get your post! My records show Marcel Simonet, the French immigrant(1800-1880) having a son, Louis, who married Melinde BLANC. They had a son named Marcel(8-29-1870), married to Ellen ZOLLER. Marcel n Ellen had 2 sons, Kenneth Z and Louis E(born 1904). Louis married Korleen Nichols and had 2 children, a girl named Marilyn, and a boy whose name I have not verified. Marilyn was born 1928. This is the line that seems to match names you mentioned in your post. Let me know if we are headed in the same direction.

M Gasper

Hi! My husband's name is Marcel Lewis Simonet born in 1946. His grandfather's name and great-grandfather's name were both also Marcel Simonet from Evans Mills, NY area in Jefferson County. I'm trying to start a family tree for my husband and I would love to know what other info you may have as I think we are talking about the same family. He is also interested in finding any other living relatives from his family. Thanks!

Marcel and Adella Kepler Simonet had : Louis, Joseph, Augustine, Mary A, Eugene, Rosella and Eugenia. Rosella married Joseph Besha. Her sister, Mary, married Joseph's brother, Louis Victor Bisha. The brothers spelled their last names differently(i vs e). the third sister married Augustus Baltz.
As to the relationship between 'John Kepler, age 17' on the census and Adella, I have not been able to find it anywhere. My records show Adella's parents as 'Joseph and Adella Kepler.'
Let me know if you are interested in the Simonet line.

M Gasper

Came across your posting about the Keplers and the Simonets. I am researching the Keplers and have a 1870 census record for Marcel and Adaline Simonet, with a John Kepler age 17, living with them. Does anyone how who Adaline Keplers parents are? Or how this John Kepler is related to Adaline. Or if she had any siblings? The only other piece of information that I have is a obituary for a Mrs. Joseph J. Besha. She is one of the daughters of Marcel and Adele Kepler Simonett. The newspaper was dated September 18, 1919. Does anyone know which daughter this is? Three brothere were listed Joseph, Augustus and Eugene.

I just wanted to let anyone who reads this Board to know that posting queries does work! Ms Holder's ancestor, Eugenia SIMONET Baltz, was the last child of Marcel SIMONET, and the most elusive for me in my research all these years. Even the time span between my posting and Ms Holder's was more than a year, but the best surprise of all! So, keep posting, keep looking, and maybe like me, you will find that 'missing link' before your hair turns white!

Three of his
brothers were generals under Napoleon
Bonaparte, and the fourth was an attorney.
Marcel was educated in Paris, and upon
graduation, he was head clerk in a
wholesale establishment. In 1831, he arrived
in US, settling in Jefferson County, NY.He
married Adelle KEPLER. They had 7 children:
Louis, Joseph, Augustine, Mary A., Eugene,
Rosella, and Eugenia. I am looking for
Marcel's siblings and their descendants.
Also, want to find Marcel's parents. I have
traced Marcel's descendants.
In 1988, the only information I could find on 'Eugenia Simonet,' the youngest of Marcel and Adella Kepler Simonet's 7 children, is the following: born circa 1855 in Orleans, Jefferson County, NY; married Augustus Baltz on July 4, 1875 in Waterown, NY; and an address for her in Battle Creek Michigan in the early 1900's. That is all I have for Eugenia. I did extensive work on SIMONET, and if your ancestor is this Eugenia, I will be happy to share. I have information on her siblings, her parents pertaining to area where they settled, worked, and raised their families. I am descended from the third of the seven children. Hope to hear from you.

M. Gasper

Eugenia and August Baltz daughter Carrie married my great great grandfather, John Henry (aka Harry) DeShon in Battle Creek Michigan 23 Aug 1894.

I would love to receive the information that you have.
