Hazel Sipe was born around June 1889 daughter of AJ and Flora Sipe. Lived in Lisbon, Columbiana Co., Ohio. Married Carl R Stebbins. Carl died in Oct 1918 while in US Navy stateside in the flu epidemic of that year. My last record of Hazel is in 1920 census. Does anyone have any information on what happened to Hazel? Did she remarry? Have a family? Live in Lisbon area? Carl Stebbins was my great uncle. I would like to know what became of his widow.

My Charles Sipe(s) was born about 1761 in PA and died 12/15/1831 in Armstrong County, PA. He married Elizabeth Painter (Bender) and they had the following children:

Elizabeth (born 1791) Westmoreland County, PA
William (born @1794) Westmoreland County, PA
Charles (born @1797) Westmoreland County, PA
Margaret (born @1799) Westmoreland County, PA
Frances (born 1803) Armstrong County, PA
George (born 1805) Armstrong County, PA
John (born 1810) Armstrong County, PA.

I am descended from William Sipe(s). I believe all Charles' children lived in Armstrong County until their deaths, with the exception of John, who married a woman named Matilda Arp. John lived for a while in Butler County, PA and he finally settled somewhere in in Ohio.

I have been told that the family surname was originally SEIB, but then it was changed to Sipes and finally, Sipe. I have found my ancestors under all three names and even more spelling variations.

I'm not sure if this helps you, but I'd be happy to hear about any information you may have on Charles and William.

There also was a John A Sipe married Margaret Stevens. I am looking for Parents of Peter Sipe Butler, buried in Mt Nebo. He married Catherine Bollinger. Perhaps these men are all brothers. Peter was born in 1790.

I do not have this name. I have Peter marrying an Elizabeth Wise. This may well be the Mary Wise. These are collateral lines. I have info on direct lines. He was buried in Mt. Lebo cemetery in Connoquenessing twp. Butler Co. I did read the cemetery about 20 years ago
Peter Sipe b. 03-12-1790 d. 01-18-1881 War of 1812.
Have researched a lot but couldn't pin down exact birthplace. most likely Northampton or Lehigh Cos. Sister married in Bethlehem to Henry Rice.
There was a family group meeting until the 60's--Rice, Wise, Moyer, Boyer & Ziegler. All intermarried and living new Zelienople or Harmony, Butler Co.They came out with Abraham Ziegler who bought the land from the Harmonists. Some of the gravestones are in German. Some were Mennonites.

Way too late for me as I am looking ca 1810. In the teens a bunch of Mennonites came with Abraham Ziegler to Harmony to settle on Harmonists lands. Look around Zelienople for cemeteries. A Peter was here in Conn. in 1830 census. He was an executor in Northampton in 1796 married to Mary. Also a Peter in Lehigh Co. in 1790 (census). Anyway, these are some leads.

My first Biggerstaff arrived in the US from Ireland in 1830. Other relatives were said to have come sooner, settling in the Pittsburg area.
Hmmm, I have a Christian Sipe that marries a Jane Wise; marriage was 7 Apr 1825 in Silver Springs, Cumberland County, PA. Christian has a brother Peter. I wonder if this is the Peter that is referenced as marrying Elizabeth Wise.
