Geraldine R. "Gerri" Sipple
Geraldine R. "Gerri" Sipple, 88 of Erie,
died Saturday March 7, 2009 at Fairview Manor. She was born on January 20, 1921 a daughter of James and May Fitzgerald Cantlon in Erie, Pa. Geraldine was raised and educated in Erie, graduating from East High School. She worked for a time at Corrugated Box in Erie then worked as a secretary for Skinner Engine until her retirement. She also continued working at Skinner Engine on a part time basis following retirement. She was a member of St. Julia's Roman Catholic Church in Erie and enjoyed taking care of her family. In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by her husband Norman A. Sipple on September 22, 1995, whom she married on October 4, 1952 in Erie;
also by three sisters, Marie B. Yuhas, Dorothy "Angela" Voss, and Clair M. Clancey; and two brothers, William and James R. Cantlon. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home 309 Main St. East, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will be held there on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Julia's Catholic Church, 638 Roslyn Ave., Erie.
