I am looking for any information on a "Ord" Sitter in Anna Illinois around the 1850's. My maternal grandmothers first husband was William Benton Hancock. William Hancocks mother was Elnora (or something like that) Hancock. People just called her "Nora". "Hancock" was her married name. I am pretty sure that Nora was adopted as a small child by someone called Ord Sitter in Anna Illinois. Ord Sitter (according to my great aunt) was an auctioneer in Anna. If I can find out ANYTHING on Nora Hancock, it hopefully will lead me to who she married, which would be the father of William Hancock, and my great grandfather.
