Lawson Sitzes

I just ran across this thread while researching some of the Sitzes that appeared in Smith's 'Civil War Soldiers...' along with my second great grandfather Benjamin Franklin Sitzes. If Lawson Morrison is the s/o John B and Naomah Sitzes/Seitz and brother of Eli Seitz b 14 Apr 1815 in NC then Lawson might be my 3rd great grand-uncle. Since there were several Lawsons I think I'll give this some more study before I jump in and add him to my database! If that turns out to be him, and you're interested, I have lots of information on Benjamin Franklin's family, particularly my line from his son Noah Franklin on down. I am just starting on this research of Arthur Sitzes born: April 2, 1897 Missouri, death: Oct. 1971 Missouri whom married Myrtle Aldridge born: April 7, 1898 Missouri, death: Aug. 1989 Missouri. I know they were born and lived down around the Booth Heels of Missouri. They had children: Jeanette born: 1938, James born: 1935, Joe, twins- Arthur & Helen born: 1931, Sadie, Harvey born: 1925, and Rose Sitzes born: 1934. This is all that I know and can not find anything as far as even a federal census on either one of them or their children. Myrtle Aldridge had 2 children before marring Arthur Sitzes and they were Ernest Hatton born: 1924 Mo., and Beatrice Hatton born: 1923 Mo..
Hopefully some one can help me in this families search.

Im your uncle. I was born Patrick Edward Sitzes III. same as your father. I go by Patrick Edward Niebrugge. My friends call me Ric. I have been looking for your father, my brother, for almost 20 years. I e-mailed your mother 5 years ago she gave me very little info. Just his mother name and birthday. It was for sure she did not want to talk about you and him to me. I have info where he lives now. So am very excited about seeing your post. I check this site every few months. please help me im sure together we can find your father, my brother together. I have literally no information on the man, and have never seen what he looks like. My mother is holding out anything relating to him, and since I am 17 now, this little game has become quite tiresome. If you have anything, and I mean anything, please let me know. The only things I do have are: his full name; Patrick Edward Sitzes the 3rd. He was born in 1968. And I think, I am not sure though, I heard my mother on the telephone saying he was in Ohio. Like I stated before please help me figure this out.

Alan, would you share information on Capt Peter Sitzes, Rev War soldier. Gilbert Jefferson Sitzes was my grandfather, son of Noah Sitzes who was the son of Rufus Sitzes who was the son of John B Sitzes who was the son of Capt Peter Sitzes. According to Goodspeed book John B and his father Capt Peter Sitzes came to MO in the early 1800's.

Hey Girl,
Good to hear from you.Herman(my EX) put together quite a search .Leonard put alot into it too.It goes back to the 1800's. It just need the modern marriages, kids and divorces for the last 15 years brought up to date.
Mary Kathryn in Missouri is doing research too.
It its quite interesting.
some of our Indian heritage was a part of 'the trail of Tears that ran throught Missouri.
The spelling of the Sitzes changed three times thru the years if I remember right.

I am a direct ancestor of the Sitzes linage yo are searching for. I have quite and extensive search on the relatives dating back to North Carolina. Most moved to Missouri where the majority still live although they have braancvhed out. I live in Kokomo Indiana. I have been married but took back my maiden name when I divorced over two years ago.

I am trying to locate info on my family.
My Grandmother was Mabel Sitzes she married Robert L. Duncan sometime in the early to mid 20's . They lived in White Pine, Nevada mid 20's to early 30's and eventually made their way to California.
They had four children,George, Irma (Ima), Billie and Robert D.
My father was Robert who married Mary E. Glynn/ Ackerman.
I was christened Roberta Mae Duncan.
I have one brother Dennis D. Duncan.
Mom died from complications of rhuematic fever from when she was a chid. Dad remarried Delphia L. Lippencott and they moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in the 70's where Dad passed away on Good Friday 2004.
My Uncle George married Majorie Hess.
They had 4 daughters Debbie, Becky, Cindy and Donna.
My Aunt Billie (McCraw) had 4 daughters Vickie, Mickie, Kathy and Carolyn.
Aunt Ima (Turner/Edwards) had two sons Jim Turner,Kevin Turner (deceased) and 2 daughters Jackie (Pitts) and Lynne (Wright) (deceased).

These Sitzes are my relatives. Vester and Erscell Sitzes are my grandparents. Noah Sitzes is my grandfathers brother. Noah married Nettie. J.V. Sitzes is the son of Vester and Lowell is the son of Noah. Vester and Noah were born in Missouri. There father Juan died in 1910. There mother Henrietta moved them to Arkansas to be near her family. Hello Pat and Sue, I have a Gilbert J. Sitzes in my files who is born 1875 died 1940 and is buried in Beulah Cemetery in Madison Co., MO. Not sure this is your Gilbert, but may be?

Also, do you have any information on Mrs. Maggie C. Sitzes (b. 1873 d. ?) (Maiden name unknown) who married on 1-28-1901 at age 26 to Eli A. Revell (age 28) (b. 1872 d. ?) born Madison Co., MO (both lived in Poplar Bluff Twp., MO at time of their marriage. Yes, your Gr. Grandfather Benjamin Franklin Sitze served in the Cival War.
If possible I would very much like to have a copy of Joseph & Mary's picture.
My father was Luke Whitener Sitze son of Joseph Raleigh Sitze & Cora Mae Whitener. Joseph Raleigh Sitze was son of Eli Seitz/Sitze & 3rd. wife Susan Dellinger.

Crooked Creek Township is located in west central Bollinger County.

Joseph A Sitze' farm was located in Twp. 31N Range 8E Section 12; N 37.37 degrees W 90.12 degrees; 1.5 mile east of Madison & Bollinger counties line; apx. 1.5 mile north of Old Trace Creek Cem.; apx 1.5 mile east of Bessville.

Benjamin Franklin Sitze was son of Eli Sitze and 1st wife Polly Underwood. My father was Luke Whitener Sitze s/o Joseph Raleigh Sitze s/o Eli Sitze and 3rd wife Susan Dellinger.

The first seven children you listed are children of Troy Alfred Shell & Lucretia A Sitze (daughter of Eli Sitze/Seitz and third wife Susan Dellinger.

I show their names as: David Lafayette, Jennie, Minnie K, infant b & d 1890, Mae, Robert Lee & Melbern.

My grandfather was Joseph Raleigh Sitze son of Eli Seitz and 3rd wife Susan A Dellinger.

Many of those with this surname in MO., in the Bollinger, Madison, Cape Girardeau area are descendants of the Seitz family of Lincoln Co., and surrounding areas of NC. There were many families who migrated from NC to MO in the early 1800's such as Seitz/Sides/Sitzes, Hawn/Hahn, Bollinger, Whitener/Widener, Lutes/Lutz, etc. Lots of info online available using searches under Seitz, Sides. Thought it was worth mentioning.

Clark,thank you so much, joseph albert and mary e. were my grandparets,mary died when i was 12. was to young to find out information. she lived with us before she died,i was very close to her. my dad is charley( charles joseph sitzes born in 1903) i never knew this family was so large. have been doing a lot of geneology for about 3 yrs. i have a picture of joe and mary,taken in 1904 ,my dad was 1 yr old. they were a nice looking couple,be glad to share if anyone is interested.. benjamin was my gr. grandfather.i do you know if he was in the civil war.? also who were your parents and grandparents?
