Martha Sjursen, born 6 Mar 1836, died 3 Apr 1860, first wife of Sjur Haaland, buried in the Helmar, Il cemetery near Newark, IL. The name was similar, so I an submitting it.

My great-grandmothers sister in Sveio named Inger Marie Reiersdatter Aasbu married (in 1874) Ole Ellefson Fjon born about 1859 in Fjon, Sveio near Haugesund. Ole died the same year as they got married , he was a seaman and drowned.
They got a son born in 1873 (or 74?) named Ole Martin Olsen (or Olson). (I don't think he used Fjon as surename, monly Olsen or Olson).
According to the 1865 census in norway for Sveio north of haugesund Asalina (Lena) Fjon was a sister of Ola Ellefson Fjon and the aunt of this boy Ole Martin Olsen born 1873 or 1874.
Ole Martin Olsen worked for my great grandparents (uncle and aunt) in 1901, but after that he emigrated to USA (at least I believe so because I have found this mentioned in the local historybook for Sveio ).
This is all I know about Ole Martin Olsen (Fjon).
I am now wondering where he settled in USA and was thinking that he maybe went to the same area as his relatives.
Have you ever heard about a person with this name ?
I have also found a person named Ole Martin olsen born 1874 living in Boyson Co. Idaho, but don't know if there is any connection to "my" ole Martin Olsen.

My grandmother, Anna Regina Sjurson, was born 4 July 1884 in Tjernagel, Sveio, Rogaland, and emigrated about 1908 to Big Sandy, MT. She married Ellef K. Johnson in Pollock, Campbell Co., SD in 1910. Ellef's parents were Klemmet Kvalvaag/Kvalvaag/Kvalvagnes and Asalina Fjon, also from Sveio, near Haugesund. They came to the US in 1887 and settled in Campbell Co., SD. Any connections that you know of?

My great grandmother was Thorborg Aseline Fjon, b. 15 Mar 1865 d. 12 Nov 1941 in Pollock, Campbell, SD. Information I have indicates her brother, Ole Fjon, was b. about 1859 in Norway. As yet I have found no information on Ole Martin Olsen. I have looked mainly in SD, but will look further in ID although there is no Boyson Co. in ID. Asalina married Klemmet Kvalvogness in 1882 before emigrating to the US. I believe in the early 1990s there was a reunion in Sveio of the descendents of Berta and Johannes Kvalvagnes and these would be 2nd and 3rd cousins of my father, Clarence Johnson.

I'm looking for a Halsten Sjurson vaaga b 1855 from Norway, Hordaland, Sveio,near by the town Haugesund. He emigrated to Northwood Iowa 12/8 1881.
His father was Sjur Larson vaaga and his mother was Haldis Halstensdtr.Some of his relatives setled later in Minesotha.( Karl Severin Larson Kvalvog b 1893, maried to Klara and Hanna Larsdtr.b1890 maried to Hans Solem or Solheim)If there is anyone out there who know something about this persons please reply.I have informations about their ancestors to share.
