I met Col. John Skelton and his wife in 1969 when he first published his book. My Thomas (before 1755, possibly VA - died after 1828 in Pendlelton Co., SC) was not mentioned in his book. He believed that my Thomas was a brother of William (ca 1743), Robert (1747), Hugh (ca 1765) and Issac (ca 1766). He directed me to Col George Byers and later to Dr. Earl Skelton. Later in James Garner Patey's book "The Patey - Skelton Family, Volumes I and II", Mr. Garner includes my Thomas as a brother of the above mentioned brothers. I descend from Thomas (ca 1755-ca 1828), William (ca 1773-ca 1850), Thomas Asa (1822-1885), James Robert (1848-1922), Lone Calep (1887-1970), me (1934). From Pendleton Co.,SC to Union Co., SC, to Franklin Co., GA to TX in 1904 was the route my Skeltons took to my birth in Linden, Cass Co, TX, in 1934. Can anyone connect to my line or give me any information before Thomas birth ca 1755? You can contact me at jmskelcroft@gmail.com
