John Thomas Skelton wives Martha Allen and Josie Stafford

Surnames: Skelton Bateman Allen
I have Elvira Skelton wife of Willie Mack Bateman and having difficulty to go any farther excpet to say that I see lots of people who say that Elvira is the daughter of John Thomas Skelton and Josie Stafford. When with that knowledge I don't see John prior to 1880 and so no clues of his parents. And I don't see Josie at anytime.
Is there anyone who can help me with this family?
