Hi David,
Have been surfing the net and thought why not type in Skerrett to see who else is out there in the world, and blow me down there's a heap of us! We have a whole clan over this ways, that's New Zealand. There's lots of stories to be told, however this is not the right forum for such undertakings. However, Im not quite sure if one of my cousins has seen this, as she has travelled to Galway where the Skerrett's castle stands. Another interesting fact is that apparently the first lady in waiting to Queen Elizabeth I - Henry's daughter was a Mary Skerrett(according to the period romance novalist Victoria Halt). Research probably a factor here to see whether there is any thruth in her writings. I remember reading it in one of her novels, but that was about 20years ago and I have since lapsed in memory (the sad but yet gradual realities of growing older).
Anyhow, Im actually supposed to be somewhere esle at the mo, so hope you receive this with a warm welcome from another Skerrett.
Hei konei ra mo tenei wa!
