I am still looking for anyone related to this side of my family. My grandmother was Amanda Jane Vandiver. Apparently she was from the Mena, Arkansas area. William B. Vandiver was her father but no one can recall her mother's name other than she went by the name "Tiny". Both William B. and "Tiny" had some Cherokee Indian blood, but I have not even started to research that aspect.

According to my Aunt Edith (the oldest daughter of Amanda Jane Vandiver Slayton), her grandfather, William B. Vandiver had 2 brothers, Olan and Matt. Olan had 1 son, Jack, (as best she can remember) and lived in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Matt had a son, Benny (called Buddy) and a daughter Annie. In addition he also had a sister, Lela Vandiver, who married Horace Luttrell. They had sons Carroll, Robert and Edwin and a daughter Jessie. Carroll Luttrell had a son named Elvis. My Aunt has old photos of Benny (Buddy) and Jack Vandiver.

My Aunt also recalls that one time 2 men came to their home in Waskom, Texas to offer my grandmother some land related to her Cherokee heritage. Any help on this would also be appreciated.

I would appreciate any help.
