I'm looking for information on the ancestors of Capt. Elisha SMITH, b. 27 Apr 1789 in North Carolina, d. 1852, married Rebecca MACKEY. I have quite a bit of info on Rebecca, but am at a dead-end with Elisha. I am descended from him through his son Elijah. Any information on Elisha's parents, etc., would be greatly appreciated.
