The Library of VA has Anderson Files on microfilm. Mrs. Anderson did a lot of research. One of the pieces, and it is also on line, is a note transcribed by Mrs. Anderson from William Smith II. He states that George K is George's son. Mrs. Anderson added an editorial comment. While it doesn't solve the K issue, it does establish paternal parentage.
I have seen two dates on Tomlinson marriage. Whichever it is still proceeds George's birth. So George is either Beheathland's or illegitimate.
Mrs. Anderson's comment is the relationship of the 2 George's is an err by family tradition. If someone knows what she meant. I'd like to know too.
Wish I knew where the original note William wrote is.
The Library of VA also has a lot of online information. I did find a Bible that helped but not on my Smith lineage.
