My g-grandparents, Cornelis Smith and Johannah Sullivan married on 8/8/1861 in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. Cornelis gave birth place as Rotterdam and stated that he had been a widower since 1854 and had 1 living child and 3 deceased. His parents were Francis Smith (farmer) and Elizabeth Johnson. I am unaware if they lived in Holland or the UK. Johannah was 22 (b. 1838/9)in Co. Kerry, Ireland. Her parents were Ernest Sullivan (farmer) and Johannah Cummins. Cornelis and Johannah's children were Elizabeth Johanna (1864),William (1866), Cornelius (1868), Hermanes (Manis)(1872) and Charles (1873). My grandfather was Manis Smith who married Frances Maud Mary Polkinghorne(b. 1875)on 1/9/1905 in Kalgoorlie, W.A. I would be grateful for information on any of the family. I have been unable to find details of my g-grandparents' arrivals in Australia.
