Surnames: Smith
Lovina (Lola) Smith was born in Iowa in 1872. In 1900 she was working for a Chicago newspaper. In 1902 she went to Budapest, Hungary as an English teacher. She spent most of the rest of her life in Budapest. She never married and never had children. Her middle name is Steward and her maiden surname is Smith. Her name is not a hyphenated name. She periodically returned home to the USA. She remained a US citizen. I have copies of her passport applications from the internet. She traveled all over the world. She gave as her home Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. In 1945, there was a very short newspaper article about her being stranded in Budapest. There is a ships record stating that she returned to the US in 1946. After that I do not have any information. I do not know where and when she died. I do not have her obituary. Contact me if you have any information on her. Thank you for your help. Brian
