Smitty SMITH Missouri

These "Smitty" s are indeed rare. I have been searching for my grandfather Walter E Smith in MO b abt. 1904 in Sedalia. Trouble with this is not one Walter matches my walter so I chose to soundex the searching and came up with a SMITTY family in Scott Co MO in 1920. They are listed

1. Minnie, 46 a Widow, Head of house
2. James, 27
3. William, 18
4. Walter, 16
5. Arthur, 14
6. Albert, 12
7. Minnie, 9

The interesting thing about this family is that my Walter Smith was born abt 1904, named his eldest son Albert, my father's middle name ARTHUR and his Walter's parents on his marriage license are Minnie and Edwards Smith. Of course I might be just grasping at straws here but after 2 years of searching this is the closest I've come to a Walter and Minnie in Mo with matching dates.

So my question to you all is this, Just how many of the Smitty folks you know have gone by SMITH and droped Smitty?

Randy J. Smith

My husband's real father's name was Robert Smitty, we cannot seem to find him anywhere, he would have lived in the St. Louis, Mo area around the late 1950's.
If you run across this man could you please let me know.
Thanks
Tammara Jackson
roofer@fidnet.com

There are some Smitty's in Arkansas.
