Looking for information on a Smullen family that moved to Texas after 1870 from PA. James Smullen (b. about 1847 in Ireland) married Mary Ann McGinnis (b. 1847 PA or Ireland) about 1869 in PA. They lived with his mother Ann in Pittsburgh PA in the 1870 census and had a son Francis born 1870. She owned a boarding house there and I think she was a widow. Information I have is they moved to Texas after 1870 and he worked for the railroad and had a total of 7 sons. I found a James Smullen living in Anderson Co. TX in the 1920 and 1930 census, and assume this is a son because of a letter I have written by a cousin in the 1940's saying he owned a drug store and this is correct according to the census. The oldest son Francis b. 1870 PA went by Frank and stopped in PA to visit this cousin during his military life.That is about all I have. Willing to share all the other genealogy on the families that I have.
