Hi Roberta:
Sorry for the name confusion! Here is my info:
Dianah BEASLEY b. March 27, 1812 in Richmond Co, NC; d. July 3, 1886 in Fayette Co, GA; daughter of Daniel BEASLEY and Sarah UNKNOWN.
In her father's will of Jan 28, 1829 she is identified as married to a SNEAD. The belief is it may be Daniel SNEAD but no documentation for this.
Dianah had four children by her first marriage:
1)George Washington SNEAD b. March 31, 1835, Richmond Co, NC .
2)James E. SNEAD b. 1836, Richmond Co, NC.
3)John Adams SNEAD b. Feb 15, 1837, Richmond Co, NC.
4)Elizabeth SNEAD, b. abt. 1838 possibly in GA.
Dianah SNEAD married her brother-in-law, Absolom SNEAD May 16, 1839 in Forsyth Co, Ga. She had about 15 children by Absolom and over the years they apparently moved back and forth between GA ALA. She is buried in Fayette Co, GA along with her son, John A. SNEAD (my great-grandfather) and other family members.
Much of what I have came from several wonderful SNEAD researchers who generously shared what they found. Ken SNEAD is doing a lot of research on this line. Confirming the name of Dianah's first husband has been a major brick wall.
Hope this information is helpful to you and any light you can shed on this line is much appreciated. Look forward to hearing from you again.
Gail
