I am searching for information on parents and siblings of Robert Edward Snead, my great great grandfather. Robert was born in April 1868 in Georgia. I have found census records indicating that Robert's mother was from Georgia and his father from either Georgia or Alabama. Robert was married to Mary Frances "Fanny" Stowers on 30 Sept 1888. They had 7 children: Maybell (b: Jan 1890), Rupert Earl, my great grandfather (b: 15 May 1892), Lloyd (b: Oct 1894), Paul E. (b: April 1898), Charles C. (b: 1902), Bessie (b: 1905) and James P. (b: 1909). Robert's 2nd wife was Mamie Huff. I have found quite a bit of information on Robert's children and will be happy to share.
I am having trouble finding Robert's parents or his siblings. The closest I have found is George Washington Snead (b: 30 Mar 1835) from Richmond, NC. The 1880 census show George, a farmer, married to Harriet (Bowers) and living in Spalding County, GA. They do have a son, Robert E., the correct age as my gggrandfather and Harriet was born in Georgia.
If anyone can confirm that George is Robert's father or have any other information, I would be very grateful. I have been looking for this off and on for about 5 years now.
