Hello,
I am wondering if we have a connection through your Snead/McDaniel lines. I have a Nicholas Sneed married to a Sally McDaniel in 1820 in Albemarle County, Virginia. I have no parents listed for either. Sally and Nicholas had at least one son, John who married a Mary Ann Tooley in 1856. They were both listed as 24 years of age. I have the following children and births listed as follows:Fanny 1856;Eddie, 1860;William, 1861; John, 1858;James Jefferson 1862 and Marcellus, 1865. In the 1880 census for Scottsville, Albemarle County, Va., Fanny's name is given as Isabella F.(possibly Frances); John is John W.; Eddie is listed as Joshua Edward; and James is still James Jefferson. Ages on census agrees with children's ages. Marcellus is not on this census.....may have died or in his own home or living elsewhere. The census age for Mary Anne is 49 and agrees with her age at marriage, but the age given for John is not in agreement. It has him listed as being 63, thus making his birthdate 1817.

James Jefferson married Eulatie Swink in 1895 and they lived in Augusta County. I am wondering if this Sneed line ( and often spelled Snead after Nicholas) connects to your line. The fact that another Snead married into a McDaniel line is somewhat a good indicator. I am searching for any information on these people. Any help would be appreciated......
