My granny's maiden name was Doreen Snowball and she her sister was Christine (still alive). Doreen Snowball was born in 1932 and lived in Shildon. I'm not sure if that was where she lived as a child but it was definitely in the Bishop Auckland area.

Her father was Fred Snowball - he was one of 13 children and owned a pub. His father was William Snowball.
