Hi Cynthia! I happened to stumble onto this site and was shocked to see that you have been in contact with my mom's cousin, Harry Czarnik. I am also please to find out that you might have information about the Sobieszczyk family from Loup City, NE. I've been researching this family for quite a while. So far, have it back to Marcin Sobieszczyk in Kazmierow, Poland (near Bydgoszcz). Let me know if you can help me get more information. I would be glad to share what I have.

Dear Cynthia: please see my message dated 11 Feb 2002. I just started searching my tree & found it rough going. It seems that most of them changed the spelling for some reason, probably the anti-polish prejudice in the early 1900's. Please let me know if you have any data on this surname from the South Side of Pgh., Pa. It was called Birmingham in the 1800's. Looking forward to hearing from you. DJP

Hi Alice, I have been in contact with Cynthia Sobieski & I read the data you sent to her. I don't think we have a connection. My GGreandfather was Anthony Sobieszczyk & he married Rozalia Sass. They belonged at St Josephats also. None of the surnames you mentioned are found in our tree. I did reply to your old e-mail address on 11 Feb 02 when I saw Sobieszczyk in your heading??? Good Luck. We are finally making some progress thanks to Cynthia & Jim.

Hello,
Could Ludwig have been one of those 13 children?
I was recently told the Kujawa name is also linked to my family.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Randy,

My father, Raymond Sobieszczyk, was born in Loup City, NE and is one of 13 children born to Joseph Sobieszczyk and Mae Lorczyk. I have been working on the family tree, and also received a nice Sobieszczyk family notebook with information and baptism certificates from Poland from Cynthia a couple of years ago. What is your connection to the Loup City branch?

Sincerely, Roberta Choma
