Lola May Simonson died Aug. 20, 2004, in Cañon City, CO. She was born Oct. 20, 1905, in Palasade, Neb., to Elverton and Eurie (Murphy) Solace. She married Guy Simonson Jan. 2, 1926, in Craig.
At 16, she and her family moved from Nebraska to Colorado in a covered wagon. In her younger years, she worked along side her husband as a sheepherder.
In 1952, she and her husband moved to Cañon City. Mrs. Simonson was a homemaker and mother, who enjoyed baking, cooking, and making candy.
She is survived by two daughters, Norma Hartkopp and Maria Relich; a son, Michael Simonson; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
Mrs. Simonson was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sons; two sisters; two brothers; and a grandson. She was the last member of her family.
Burial in Mountain Vale Memory Gardens in Cañon City. Services are under the direction of Charles Anthony Funeral Home of Florence.
