I can trace my Solanas ancestors to a Florencio Solanas from Leciñena, Zaragoza, Spain b. circa 1850 and married Juana Solanas (Arruego). They had at least 6 children -Simona, Julius, Narcisse (my great), Isabella, Ignacio, and Tomas. Florencio came to Montreal and the United States for some time and went back to Spain. At the age of 95, he was executed by Francisco Franco in Zaragoza during the Spanish Civil War for his pro-democratic views. My grandfathers indicates he was the son of Eusebio Difruto Solanas and Inez Solanas (Salvador), but I cannot confirm this information. If anyone knows of this family or any Solanas from Lecinena, please let me know.
