Hi Marianne,
My name is Elizabeth Castle. I too am from the Bronx although don't live there currently. My Husband's last name is Solano. His father's name was Andres Solano. He also has 2 living brothers. One of them is named for their father Andre. They grew up in Washington Heights in Manhattan(which is close to the Bronx)later moving to N.J. My daughter's name is Sophia Solano, when we named her that his mom and he both told me the boys had an aunt on the fathers side named Sofie. I also believe Andres was from a large family of at-least 7 or more children.I was under the impression that they were from Spain and had family in P.R.
I don't know if this is your father but what alot of similarities. This thread is from so long ago but if you are still out there and looking, I'd be more than happy to answer any of your questions. Please e-mail me at lizyacas@yahoo.com Good Luck!

They were also the Padrinos at the marriage of Vidal Aguilar and Margarita Sais..
Were they related to Aguilars, or maybe Madril/Madrid families? Looking for death dates and burial sites also.
They lived in Tecolote, Las Vegas, and La Ceja.
Thank You, Gloria

Arturo Solano was my uncle. My father was Julio Solano, They had brothers Juan and Pepito (José) and a sister whose name escapes me. Most of Arturo's remaining children are in New York. It wouldn't be too difficult to look them up but off hand I don't have their addresses or numbers.

I live with my family in Oregon and my oldest daughter relayed your message.

Good luck in your search and keep in touch if you come up with more family details.

Adiós.

José Solano

I'm also a descendant of the Solanos of San Miguel County. Though I do not know of the names you supplied specifically, I do know that in Eastern San Miguel County just SE of Las Vegas (near Trujillo) was the Solano Ranch. A homestead from the 1800's, that was granted to the Solano family. My branch of the Solanos lived there and married into the Trujillo Family . The ranch stayed in the family for many years, but now belongs to another family, but part of the ranch is still there. This was a very large family and i know there are Solano Family Reunions in San Miguel County in the summers.
