Peder is my great-grandfather. Emigrated to US in 1923, with his family - wife Nelsine (Nelsema,Nelseva) Soreid and daughter Anna Antoinette Solheim. Settled in Minnesota. Died there in 1961 and is buried in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in (Rice?). I'm trying to find information about his family, or Nelsine's family back in Norway. My mom says place of birth was Tysnes, Norway. Any help is appreciated!

I am looking for information on Herliek Elvindsen SOLHEIM who was born in 1756 in Flesberg, Buskerud, Norway.

He married Sonnev Oldsdatter VANGESTAD and had seven children, all girls, who were also born in Flesberg.

Are there anyone who's related to my Step Grandfather, Oswald J. Solheim, born- March 15, 1883 in Sel, Norway? Parents were Marcus and Karen (Jacobson) Solheim. Family immigrated to Hudson, St. Croix County, Wisconsin when Oswald was only 5 months old.
Where is Sel in Norway? Thanks

Anyone on here belong to Wilheim Solheim? I have received a piece of his life, his sister, Olea ( was a teacher in Sioux Falls,S.D. ) and for his birthday in 1918, she had made him a very nice gift, complete with note of well wishes from family members and a friend. Have found that this Wilheim Solheim married Ragnhild RISTY, that was from Corson, S.D. They married in Brandon,S.D. on June 24, 1922, and in 1930 they lived in Laramie,Wyoming, with son Wilheim,Jr. If you think this may be your relative, please email me, and we can get this piece of history back to your family. Seeking descendants and ancestors of mentioned couple. Immigrated from Norway via Canada. Had children Marie, Gertrude, Carl, Esther, Jim, Mary Jane, Finn Olaf, and Wilbur. Siguard was born 1894 in Norway, Borghild born 1903 in Bergen, Norway; possibly married in Canada before moving to Centerline, MI, by 1935 where Finn was born.

Teri, hi, if you are still trying to do research on your Bryne family, let me know. There is a gentleman in Norway who is doing some work on this family and I have found them in the North Dakota records and on a family tree on Genealogy.com. We could communicate and perhaps you could learn more about the Norway history of this family and the fellow in Norway could learn more about the American history of this family.

Greetings, Was Anne born aprox. 1920? Do any of these names ring a bell...Paul..Ole Paulson..Peter Olson..Carrie .... Ivan/Ivor Solheim.....married aprox 1880..wifes name Hannah/Johannah (Oien)...they had 6 children..Oldest daughter Gusta was 39 in 1922. She was widowed with 4 children 2 girls 19 & 11.. 2 boys 13 & 9. Ivan/Ivor died in Canada? ...Oscar J. Solheim...Hudson City St. Croix Wisconson....Jonas....Andria Oien..Handels??..Erling...Clara..Sigried..Andria Oien..husband Jonas..had son Andrias..had daughter Anne. These folks are originally from Trondheim Norway. Oscar moved to Wisconson..Ivan moved to Canada..and Hannah's sister Carrie..came to Mich in 1880 with her daughter Carrie Oleana Olson. Hannah/Johannah..& Jonas were Carrie's brother & sister. The note I have states that Grandmas sister..Hannah/Johanna married Ivan/Ivor Solheim. I have a Johanna Solheim Holstuerken No.16, Trondheim Norway.
Hannah Oien married Ivar Solheim..Ivar died in Canada.
Gusta Solheim female..oldest daughter of Hannah.
Esther Nordlund b.1895...Esther's mother's Aunt..is either Johanna or Hannah..which might put her birth date around your 1872...

I don't know of any Solheim's in Wyoming, but I did find a child of Ed and Olga Solheim that I don't have a name for. Their child was a male and his five siblings were born between 1921 and 1935. All of the siblings were also born in or near Crookston, MN.

I doubt there's a connection, but it might help...

Hi,
As you can tell my last name isn't Solheim. But, my father's birth name was. He was adopted in Wyoming by the Lytle family as a laborer on a farm. He has no real idea of his roots, and probably has never touched a computer. He was born in the early 1930's. At one time he thought that his real mother was dead, but he found out that she had been committed to an assylum for unknown reasons somewhere. He lived in a orphanage in Riverton Wyoming where he worked in the fields picking crops.His first and only name is William.(ie. No Middle Name)
That's about all I know of his life. If any of your trails have turned up any information relating to this ,Please write back!!

I am seeking information about my Grandfather he was from Oslo, Norway his name was William Solheim and he had a brother that was named Harold Solheim and out of all of there siblings these were the only 2 that came to the United States all of his other relatives are still living in Norway as far as I know.

My mother was Anne Solheim from the Solheim parish, Arendal County Aust-Agder. The family continues to live on the farm in Froland and many family members are in the surrounding area. Perhaps we are related.
