I think John Sparrow and Mary Conway had two daughters named Catherine. The first one died shortly after birth. The second one probably should have read Born about 1796. She married William Bowles 11 May 1826 .

Their marriage date was 13 Apr 1822. The marriage took place in the Quebec Wesleyan Methodist Church in Quebec.

I do have some limited info on Catherine's grandparents and great grand parents plus their children, but I don't have any down link info on their children other than what's in Ancestry.com

There were 2 Catherine Sparrows but they were aunts to your Catherine. Your Catherine was born in Ontario about 1822 but she married George Singleton in Quebec. Do you have their marriage date - I will look it up if you need it. Do you have any info on the Sparrows.

I'm a little confused, hopefully you can help me untangle my cobweb.

In your post of 5 Jul 09, you mentioned John Sparrow and Mary Conway had 5 children. However, when I looked at the list of five you mentioned, I noticed that Catherine Sparrow is listed twice.
a. Catherine Sparrow 1796 d: and d: 23 Jun 1839 Bourg Louis
b. Catherine Sparrow b: 20 May 1796 Montreal QC d: Jul 1796

Were there two Catherine's? or is there a data difference?
How should the correct info read?

Also, in my intial research, I show Catherine Sparrow was born in 1822 in Ontario, Canada. Is there some credence to this or am I way out in left field?

Any info you can provide would sure be a tremendous help.

All the other entries were a lot of help.

If you need any info pertaining to the Singleton's from today back trough George Singleton (b: 1815) I will be happy to provide it. My mother Barbara Marcile Singleton is a direct decedent of George through Joseph Henry Singleton & Joseph Fredrick Singleton.

Just found this board. My grandmother and her brother were neighbors in Hartsville SC. They lived in the mill village. The only reason I know of this family is because my 87 year old cousin rode to Hartsville with me the early part of June this year. She identified the house on the corner as being the home of the Sparrows. No real information to give you, but I can always ask.

His father was Thomas Sparrow and mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Sutton. Thomas died when Ernest was very small. We know nothing about Thomas. Some think that Thomas son of Henry & Mary Ashby is Ernest's father. Do you have any info that would help??

My grandfather Ernest Sparrow was born 04/03/1893 and died 09/10/1964. It is interesting that the name Frank Ed Sparrow came up as some think my Great Grandfather Thomas may have been his brother. But I cannot find out anything about this Thomas G. Sparrow b ABT 1863 in KY. Such as who he married or his children. I think my family hid in the "hallers" of Spencer & Anderson Co. If you are still out there, thanks for the help.

Sorry it's taken a few days to reply, it's also been quite awhile since I have worked on this family.

I do not know who George's parents were.

Here's what I do know about Mary Ann, George's wife. Mary Ann McCarty was the daughter of William McCarty and Elizabeth Jarboe McCarty, dau. of Stephen Jarboe.

William McCarty and Elizabeth Jarboe were married July 20, 1820 in Washington Co. Ky. Two children were born of this marriage Mary Ann McCarty and George McCarty. William McCarty died young about 1825-6 in Washington Co.

Joseph McCarty [my descendant] William's brother, became guardian of Mary Ann and George after William's death.

September 28, 1826, Elizabeth Jarboe McCarty married Michael Myers. Michael Myers had been married at least 2 times prior to Elizabeth, and had a slew of children by these prior marriages. The marriage of Michael Myers and Elizabeth may be how you got the name Myers for Mary Ann.

Michael and Elizabeth Jarboe McCarty Myers had 2 children, Lavina and James Myers.

Michael Myers died sometime prior to 1833, when Benoni Hardin was appointed guardian of Lavina and James Myers on May 11, 1833. In Deed book L, page 198 in Marion Co. Ky., Elizabeth Myers deeds over the land she received as a widow of William McCarty to their son George McCarty. I've been told there was issues between Elizabeth and Michael Myers heirs, but have not been able to get back to Marion County to get all the records.

Margaret Sparrow & Willis Inman applied for a marriage bond Washington Co. 1867. There is no other data. I haven't been able to search to see if they actually got married. There is also a marriage for Margaret Sparrow to William Lawson Dec. 22, 1875 Washington Co. Ky.

Many of George [Jr] and Martha's Sparrow's children are buried in the Old Tildon Hourigan Cemetery. This cemetery I actually believe started out as the McCarty cemetery.

William H. Sparrow in Missouri

Looking for anything on a William H. Sparrow b. abt. 1855 in probably Pike Co., MO. I believe his parents to be William Sparrow and Anna D. Sparrow, both born in VA.
He was in the Pike Co., MO. census for 1850, 1860, & 1870 with his parents. William was shown as Williamson. I believe this was because he had an older brother named William Samuel.
In the 1880 census they were in Shelby Co., MO. William was married to Rosa A. Coleman, and they had a daughter, Virgin, b. abt. 1879/1880.
Death certificate for my grandmother, Julia Katherine Sparrow McGlothlin, shows them as her parents, but I have been unable to find them, or her sister Virgin, after 1880. Julia was born in 1882, Shelby Co., MO.
Any information would be appreciated.

Ernest D. Sparrow married Lillie Mae Richardson, 19 Oct 1918 (age 25), Jeffersonville, IN (1930 KY Census, Spencer Co., Mt. Eden-Ernest/Lillie- lists 6 children)
Mother: Elizabeth Sutton (which was found via DC)
Father: Thomas Sparrow.(This name may have come from Ernest DC. Since you have his DOD, I suggest you Contact KY Vital Statistics Office for a copy. It may list his Parents.
Elizabeth Sutton Sparrow's DOM to Ulysis P. Mcgaughey is 1898. This infers Thomas's YOD is 1892-1898.
At present, This Thomas does not come up in my tree of the descendants of James Wright Sparrow ( 1739-1789)

Death Cert (#22373) lists Betty McGaughey, b. 24 Sep 1875, d. 11 Aug 1923, Spencer Co., KY. Father: Dan Sutton, Mother: Susan Cogwell.
Elizabeth J. Sutton married a Sparrow on/before 1892 which puts this finding in the census gap 1880-1900.
The were no birth records on the net for Ernest D. or A death of a Sparrow 1891 +/-2 in Spencer or Anderson Cos.
