If anyone has information about these (my great grandparents) I would be interested. I know they lived in Catawba County, NC, and that Gov died about 1937 and that they had 8 children, George, Rob, Frank (blind), Loyd, Bertie (blind), Martha (married Loyd Beane), Lillie Mae (married a Lingerfelt) and Myra.
Please respond.

My dad was Lonnie Paul Speagle, Sr and George was my grandfather. George was born Nov. 30, 1905 and died July 4, 1962. His siblings include, Frank - who was blind, Rob - born June 30, 1918 died Oct. 1981, Lloyd, wife Lula, born April 24, 1907, died June 1960,Bertie - blind, Martha - married Lloyd Beane, Lillie Mae or Maebelle - married George Hinkle Lingefelt - sons Paul Robert deceased, Luther William deceased, and Roy Amos living, Marrie or Myra born May 24, 1902 died Mar 1975. Their parents were Guv or Gull and Julia Speagle. Gull and Julia are supposedly buried in Warlick's Baptist cemetery in southern Burke Co.
I appreciate your response and I hope you can help me. I don't even know for sure of my great grandfather's name. Part of those I've talked to say his name was Gov and others say it was Gull

Solomon Guv (Gove) Speagle married Julia Ann Shuford in Burke Co. NC. His father was Robert Phillip Speagle and his mother was Rachael Rudisill daughter of John Rudisill of Burke Co. NC. They were married Sept. 16, 1858 Burke Co. NC. Robert served in the Civil War. He enlisted in Company F of the 23rd regiment of North Carolina State Troops on Oct. 13, 1863 and was sent home on wounded furlough in the latter part of the following year.Robert was the son of Solomon Speegle son of Michael Speegle and Sarah Jarrett daughter of Samuel Jarrett. Michael is the son of John Martin Speegle and Sarah Nan Jarrett daughter of John Jarrett. These two Sarah Jarrett's are kin. The one that married Michael was the daughter of Sarah Nan Jarrett's brother Samuel Jarrett. John Martin Speegle was born in Germany and came to America in the 1740's on the ship Molly. I can take this line back to the 1500's if you need any help just let me know.

Hello My last name is the same as yours and all my ancestors are from Germany. Most that imagrated here were profesional soldiers. I have done some tracing back but it has taken quite a bit of time. We may be related some how. The original spelling is Spiegel
