I have family lineage of William Spears who came to North American from Ireland. He was born in the year 1731 in Ireland, married before 1769 to Agnes, also of Ireland, he died 2 March 1803 in Rocky River CO, NC. He and Agnes were the parents of 9 children, and he fought with the 1st North Carolina Light Dragoons under the command of Capt. Samual Ashe during the Revolutionary War against Brittain. All of his female descendants are elligible for membership in the DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION Organization.
