I have two of my Speer/Speers/Spears lines going to KY before 1800. With Lincohn and Boone were descendents of Michael Christopher Spears - George Spears and Jacob Spears from the Cedar Creek area of VA - see book Spears Saga by Joseph F. Spears 1972. Then from Michael's brother Henry Spears/Speer of Massanutten mountain, VA who settled in sw PA, had two sons, Jacob and Solomon who went on to KY. Solomon was killed by Indians. Jacob's desecendents settled Paris, KY and founded the famous Bourbon line of Spears. The other Jacob Spears was on the other side of Lexington, further south. Odell's Pioneers of Old Frederick County 1995 and J.F. Spears books show maps where George and Henry, Sr. lived in VA. George's neighbor was Thomas Lincoln and Paul Froman on Cedar Creek.
