He was my gggrandfather, born in Georgia about the 1850's. Married to Susan Ada Crank-Wilson. Maybe be part Cherokee,may have escaped Jail and hid out in Oklahoma, in the 1870's or 80's. Settled in Arkansas where he married Susan Ada Crank-Wilson who may have been widowed. She was from Lafayette, Hempstead Counties in Arknsas.

His Death Certificate says his father is Marion Spears from Georgia and mother Mary Ann Pritchett born Cherokee Nation, Any suggestions on how to get his Birth certificate, the death certificate does not indicate in what county he was born only the he was from Georgia.

Any help is appreciated.

I have family lineage of William Spears who came to North American from Ireland. He was born in the year 1731 in Ireland, married before 1769 to Agnes, also of Ireland, he died 2 March 1803 in Rocky River CO, NC. He and Agnes were the parents of 9 children, and he fought with the 1st North Carolina Light Dragoons under the command of Capt. Samual Ashe during the Revolutionary War against Brittain. All of his female descendants are elligible for membership in the DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION Organization.

I am looking for any info. on Rachel Spears born abt 1830 in Ireland, she married James Osley. They lived in New Jersey or Penn. for a short time but then moved to Illinois.
They had a daughter - Mary Jane - who married Charles Walter Savage. The 1860 census has James, Rachel and Mary Jane living at Rosefield, Peoria, ILl. That is all I know about them so any help would be wonderful.

Seeking family of Rebecca Spears. She was either born in 1848 or 1854, depending on what census you are looking at! First married a Johnson in Lafayette Co, AL in 1866, then Thomas Pennington in Lamar CO, AL in 1868.
She was sister to my husband's great-grandfather. We have been unable to locate the family. The great-grandfather died in 1899 around the time that my husband's grandfather, Luther Thomas Spears, was born.

Mary Ann Spears, b. 9/16/1824 in Hannover Germany d. 11/14/1898 in Kansas. Buried with her husband Frederick C Knoff. Both are buried at Shawnee Cemetery at Quivera Road and W. 61st Street, Johnson County, KS. Near entrance and has engraved stone monument. Concrete foundation for fence around graves, but no fence. I have pictures of the gravesite.

Britney and Aries Spears connection serious queries

Is anyone out there seriously researching the geneaogy of Britney Spears? If you look closely at pictures of Britney Spears and Aries Spears, it is more than obvioulsy that they have a genetic connection.
Both have the downward slant to their eyes. they both have the same basic nose shape. Most convincing is the nearly exact shape of their bow lips. I'm attaching pictures.

1900 census lists Eliza as the grandmother of Eugene Hillard Morgan, who is buried two plots over. I traveled to Granbury to get a picture of Eugene's tombstone (who I am related to) and Eliza was a surprise.

Can anybody tell me anything about these two brothers after 1901?
They are:
William Coverdale raine born in Seaham in 1874. he married Mary Graham(born Seaham 1873) in 1898.
John Edward Raine born 1876 in Seaham died 1919. He is World War One dead and buried in Grangetown, Sunderland. He married Catherine Graham from Ryhope in 1900.

Their parents were Thomas Raine (1846-1907) born in Lythe but lived and worked most of his adult life in Seaham as a gardener at Seaham rectory.
He married Hannah Appleby (nee Coverdale) born 1836, a widow of Francis Appleby from Seaham. They married in Sunderland in 1871.

Anymore help on this family after 1901 much appreciated!

My great grandfather was William Thomas Spears, born in 1859 somewhere in Georgia. His parents as listed on his death certificate are, Marion Spears (GA) and Mary Ann Pritchett (Cherokee Nation). William Thomas was married to Susan Ada Crank, and later died in a state mental hospital near Little Rock, Ar in the 1940's. His death certificate is the only info about any ancestry that we have. If any Spears or Pritchett researches have any info please let me know!

I can't find much, if anything on my Spears...
I know this is a long shot, but My Spears originally came from N.C. and then moved to Ky, etc.. "Rumor" has it that back before William (see below) that either his father or grandfather killed a man in North Milksbury or Wilksbury, N.C and before this happened their last name was SPARKS and then one of them did this and moved and changed their name to SPEARS. I really don't know, but maybe why I can't find anything on my set.. Here is what I have:
Would you be related or know of the set of Spears that lived in the Pikeville, Ky. area around Greasy Creek Ky (or used to be known as Alka, ky.)
My great grandfather was Elkana Spears (who married Meecy Childers) and his parents were Silvester Spears and Melvina Cox. Silvester's parents were: William Spears (b:4-26-1821, d: 06-02-1896) and Elizabeth "Bettie" Colwell (b: 1833, d: 3-11-1890).

My mother told me that my great grandfather's parents were Choctaw Indian. I know my ggrandfather was born in Arkansas- but that's all I know. His name was William T. Spears, born about 1894 (June 6- he lied about his age so I don't know the real year). He died in Rogers County, Oklahoma. He married two Mary's apparently, and had four children. Peggy Jo, Billy (William?), Norma Rose, and Mary Ann.

My grandmother was Stella Gertrude Spears Pike.
Her father was William Spears. Who was reared in Wilson County.
His father was John L. Spears who was apparently also a long-time Wilson Co. resident who moved to Nashville.
It appears that John L. Spears was the son of Lewis Spears. The census does not specify children's names.
It appears however that Lewis Spears and his wife Amanda Donnell Spears has 4 children and the sexes and ages suggest that John L. Robert R. Eliza Jane, and Catherine Spears were his children. Charles Spears married Fannie Pistole in Ardmore, IT---now OK. She died and he remarried at some point. He died in Victoria, TX. in 1967. Buried in Ardmore next to Fannie. They had one son Jay Benjamin Spears. Want info. on Charles and his secon wife and probably more children. His brother John was prominent in Ardmore . Jon's wife was a school teacher in Ardmore area.

Am trying to find one Delilah Spears, supposedly Indian or part Indian m. William or Charles Reynolds. James Reynolds (son) was married to Eliza Spurling in Green Co. KY in 1830. James appears to have been born abt. 1814.
they had four children. Two born in Louisville, KY in 1839 and 1842, one born in Taylor Co. KY, one possibly in Hart or Taylor Co. KY. Note: Shadrack and Gabriel Reynolds appear to be brothers of James reynolds. Many children were born to Delilah and William or Charles.

Sara Florence Spears, 90, Dickson, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Saint Thomas Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Spann Funeral Home with Brother Melvin Brooks officiating.

Burial will be in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Spann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Elsie May Brooks Bailey and her husband, Grady Marvin Spears.

Mrs. Florence was a member of the Sylvia Baptist Church and the Home Demonstrations Club.

Survivors include three sons, James Edmond Spears (Ruth) of Nashville, Charles Ray Spears (Elaine) of Kingston Springs, Melvin Spears (Demtria) of Hendersonville; two daughters, Bessie Gentry (Winfred) of Burns, Judy Krieg (Cloyd) of Clarksville; one sister, Opal Axley of Nashville; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

I am looking for ANY information on Orpha SPEARS. She was born 13 Mar/Apr 1817;I have conflicting info on where -one source Mi,another NY. She married Solomon Harvey Wheeler on 13 Jun 1833. They lived in/around Tecumseh,Lewanee Co, Mi. She died 26 Apr 1847 and is buried in Brookside Cemetery,Tecumseh. She is a direct line and this is all I have on her. I am looking for a connection between my ancestor Priscilla Spears born circa 1780 in Virginia and James Spears born circa 1729 in Virginia or North Carolina. Priscilla married John Frailey in Albermarle County, Va on Jan. 29, 1801 and James married Ann around 1749 also in Albermarle County. James' family later moved to South Carolina and Kentucky and Priscilla's family later moved to Kentucky and Illinois. I was wondering how large of a county Albermarle was in the later 1700's and if anyone has these two people in their records of if anyone knows a way to determine a connection between the two families. Many are listing Sarah Jane Griggs as being the mother of Drucilla Frances Spears Hinson of Hohenwald, TN. Drucilla was the daughter of Sarah Jane PRATT, not GRIGGS, according to this information and other I've come across over the years: "Grandmother of Beulah Hinson, mother of Elihu Hinson and five other children. Children: Eugenia, Truvinia, Cletus, Florence McNabb are also interred at Pioneer. Married to Polk H. Hinson. Could read and write, but husband couldn't. Original marker in possession of Andy G. Hinson. Reads 'D.F. Hinson.' Sister of Lum Spears, whose wife is also buried at Pioneer. Daughter of Sarah Jane Pratt and Nick Spears. "The last burial in Pioneer Cemetery." Adeline Allen and William Thomas Spears were my great grandparents. Adeline Allen was born March 30, 1860 in the community of Cedar Grove. William Thomas Spears was born Marc 2, 1854 in Hunt County, TX to Thomas Spears and Almedia Jane Rainey. Tom and Addie married between 1871 and 1874 and had six children, Lula, Ella, Ada, Fred, Edward, and Jack Spears.. Lula married an Anderson, Ella Mae Spears married William Henry Curtis (my grandparents), Ada Spears married first a W. H. Machen and then and unknown Crisp who I believe settled around Odessa, TX; Jack Spears was living in Wills Point TX as late as 1941, Fred Spears lived in Amarillo, TX and Ed Spears (Homer Edward?) settled in Mill Creek, OK.

Addie had five brothers survive her at the time of her death in 1941 - they were Sam S. Allen, T. L. Allen, C. L. Allen, W. A. Allen, and Tom Allen. I believe them to be the sons of John R. Allen and his wife Louisa who were living in Lampasas County, TX in the 1880 census with sons Andrew J. Allen, William A. Allen, Conney L. Allen, Thomas C. Allen, Samuel S. Allen, Texas L. Allen, and Taw T. Allen.

Thomas Spears was survived by his brother Samuel Spears of Wills Point, Van Zandt County, TX at the time of his death.
