The 11 August 1829 date is the date the marriage application was issued, if you read further down the marriage license you will see the marriage was performed on 6 Sept. 1829. John was married 3 times, #1 Rebecca Bagley, with whom he had all his children, eleven to be exact. Wife #2 Ezabella Stringer and #3 Rebecca McLoughlin.
