I will add that William and Ann Spier went from Edgecombe County, NC, to Greene County, Georgia. Their part of Greene became Hancock County. Moore and Willis Spier sold their land in 1798 in Hancock (as did William) and Moore and Willis moved to Effingham. Both left wills in Effingham County. There is an intestate William Spier whose estate was divided in Effingham County in 1831. Has anyone seen the estate papers of the intestate William?
