You said in the last posting,"But, I think that Young William was still around later than 1831. He had a lot of kids. I have never seen a will for him, and didn't find the record of an intestate William."
I do not have a will for Young William either, but he was in the Effingham 1850 Census with eleven children. William was 59 in 1850. My husband descends from Young William and his second wife Elizabeth Futrell through their daughter Jane who was 12 years old in the 1850 census.
Jame married Willliam Sheffield and her death certificate is online at the Georgia Archives Virtual Vault. Her death certificate says that she was born in 1838, and that her father was William Spier, so her death certificate might be used to prove descendency from other of Young William's children.
I found the intestate William Spier listed in the book entitled Georgia Intestates. I cannot think who he might be to have died before 1831. There is a notation in the book which indicates the information was taken from the Effingham Minutes of Inferior Court.
I found your US Mail address but not your e-mail address in previous messages.
