My own research agrees with your Nansemond to Edgecomb to Georgia conclusions. My husband descends from Moore Spier, and I too have been trying to verify that William is Moore's father. There is much to indicate that William is the father of Moore and Willis Spier, but I am looking diligently for that proof.
There is a William Spier listed as a Georgia intestate whose estate was divided in 1831. Moore and Willis' father would have been in his 90s by then. Who could that William Spier be?
