As for James Spencer being the correct one that served in the Cherokee Calvery. I have heard this also but never found proof. There is also a James Spencer listed in Blankenships Cherokee Roots (book)

I am interested in your source of the Thomas bolton Spencer info. Would you share that with me?

NOTE: William Taylor below was William the third or fourth; supposely the second was the first in America. I was told the origional Taylor line came from Liverpool ,England. It is believed that Senor Taylor MAY have been Indian. It would explain a lot of the rumors of Indian blood in the Taylor line.
