Could I see a copy of the picture of Ruth. Her parents are James and Martha Dann Sperbeck and her grandparents are Andrew and Hannah Nettleton Sperbeck. She lived in Geneva NY and died at 31 years giving birth to her first son in the hospital there.

No, I haven't. I would be interested in knowing if she was related or a friend. I have quite a few photos that were given to me and were told they were friends- one I've already found was related.

Please reply we are distant cousins James Sperbeck and Harlow Sperbeck are brothers. I have a picture of Harlow to share. I have an envelope that was sent to my Great Aunt Sarah (Sadie) Alfano Sperbeck that was sent to her July of 2000. It was just given to me by Sarah's Sister-in-Law Rosamond Bernice Sperbeck Kane. She is a granddaughter to Harlow Sperbeck and Elizabeth Harriman. I would to share information with you.

James E. Sperbeck was born in south granby he is the older brother to my GG Grandfather Harlow. Their parents were Andrew and Hannah Sperbeck who are buried in the Jacksonville Cementary in Onondaga County New York.

We checked and could not find Spencer or Hilton. That does not mean it is not possible. What names do you have for Sperbecks and we will see if any match.

My wife's maden name is Dawn M. Sperbeck. Her father is James Martin Sperbeck. They are very interested in the Sperbeck family tree. Jim (James) was able to get alot of information from Hal (Halbert) before he passed, but they would like to keep it going. Any information that you have would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

I would be very interested to know what you find out. My grandfather was born Raymond Spurbeck (sperkbeck ?) in Saginaw MI in 1922. He was adopted in 1923 and his name was changed to Raymond R. Nichol, Jr. I am trying to track down his birth parents and their families if possible.

Thank you. I am not a Sperbeck or a Sperbeck descendant. The picture belonged to my husband's great grand mother and we are assuming it was a friend of hers. My husband's great grand mother was born in Hinmanville, NY in 1879. In 1880 she and her parents had moved to Jackson County, MI and later to Kalkaska, MI. I would like to give the picture to a descendant of Ruth's- it would probably mean more to them than to us.

Your message was forwarded to me. Therre is a Ruth Sperbeck listed in the 1930 census in Otsego County, NY. I'm not sure if this is the lady you are looking for or not. There is a book out with mopst of the Sperbeck's in it. The author is Charley Moore in Glens Falls, NY. The cost is 56 dollars, which is expensive, but is well worth the cost. 23 June 05 Boards like this are slow, slow, and more so. No Dittman's that I know, but there is a very comprehensive history of the Sperbeck's, over 500 pages. E-mail me at pmgelp@aol.com
